Case Scenario

You recently completed all training credentials required to attain Standard Contract Administrator Certification (SCAC) for District contract administrator appointment. In this capacity, you were selected by your Team to serve as contract administrator on a current $2.3-million contract. In response to this assignment, you sent an email to the contracting officer requesting a contract administrator orientation session- your supervisor was cc'd on the email. In an email response, the contracting officer stated that a contract administrator orientation was not required, and therefore he declined to schedule a session. The contract officer further stated that either he or the assigned contract specialist would be available to assist with any occurring contract related issue.
