Pick one process from you daily life in which you are a key stakeholder (a few examples listed below in case you can't think of a suitable one). Execute the activities listed below. Define the scope (start and stop points) before you begin.
Deliverables:
1) Identify the customer(s) of this process (assume you are a customer, but are there any others?). What is the VOC (specifically, list the top two CTQ's and top two "delighters" - turn them into specifications, if possible)?
2) Map the process using a detailed process map (flowchart)
3) What are the KPIV's (critical X's) and KPOV's (critical Y's)? How will they help to improve the process?
4) Determine the cycle time within each process step and between each process step.
5) Identify value-added and non-value-added activities
6) Establish two overall metrics you could potentially use to measure the performance of the process? For each metric, determine whether the data type would be discrete (attribute) or continuous (variables) data?
7) What are some "quick win" changes you can make to improve the process? Are these efficiency or effectiveness gains (or both)?
Please write very clear.
