-Case 3: Ernie Penuer prides himself on his ability to spot companies that are good values and to skillfully negotiate good acquisition deals. He now manages a broad empire of diverse businesses that have one thing in common: They were all acquired at a good price and continue to drive good value and returns to the shareholders. The CFO maintains tight control over company and business unit finances. The CEOs and CIOs in the distributed businesses optimize their business operations.
