Dispute Resolution

Identify a dispute involving your organization, or an organization with which you are very familiar, that was resolved through a formal legal process such as litigation, arbitration, or mediation. This dispute could relate to any relationship within or external to the organization.  An internal example could be a dispute between the company and an employee.  External examples could be a dispute between the organization and a customer, or the organization and the community.

 Write a 2- to 3-page paper in which you:

• Identify the form of dispute resolution utilized.
• Analyze why this type of resolution was chosen.
• Identify the issue in dispute and the positions of the parties.
• Describe the outcome of the resolution process.
• Analyze the effectiveness of the process.
• Summarize any recommendations you might make as to what should have been done differently, and why.
