Q1. Outline your own social and cultural perspectives and biases in relation to particular cultural groups.
Reflect on your upbringing and the affect this has had on your cultural perspectives.
Discuss your experiences with diverse cultures and how that has contributed to your current perspectives/ biases.
Q2. Identify limitation of your own self and social awareness.
Q3. Create and document an action plan for developing and improving self and social awareness.
Nominate specific steps you can take to work inclusively and develop a greater understanding of others.

You have recently been appointed team leader of a new disability service that encourages volunteers to come and work with clients on craft projects.
Last week you organized for a group of apprentice carpenters from a local building company to join your clients for workshop on woodworking. At the completion of the workshop, you overhear one of the young apprentices tell a colleague 'I am so glad I didn't have to work with that Raghead - I hate those bastards - I don't know how you did it'.
You immediately address the issue, but it has made you aware that there is no policy in place for this project to address racism.

They all have little or no previous experience in community service work.
Your manager has asked you to make a presentation to the new staff members. The presentation must address the following issues:

- How cultural diversity should be valued and accommodated.
- The methods that might be used to overcome or manage cultural conflicts in such a setting.
Your manager has asked you to submit your script to him before you actually make the presentation.
