Case Study: Azman, a Collection Executive at Semporna Berhad is responsible for many important tasks involving cash collection at the counter. He is responsible to collect the cash and also responsible to record the cash into the ledger. Daily reconciliation of cash register and general ledger will be checked by En. Adham. (Head of Collection Department), on weekly basis. On many occasions, there was no evidence of checking on daily reconciliation by En. Adham, En. Adham always give a direction to Azman to give some cash from the daily collection for his personal used. He normally will pay back all the money within two or three days.
