Project Paper

Students will identify a contemporary economic issue of his/her choosing to prepare as a written report, their - Project Paper.

The report will identify the issue(s) in economic terms, describing its features, discussing the impacts at either the personal, local, or national level. The issue must be discussed in at least three of the economic principles/concepts presented in the course.

The report will also present recommendations through the use of economic principles/concepts discussed in the course ways to address the issue(s) identified.

The completed report is due at the class as indicated in the course syllabus. Per the dates (milestones) outlined in the course syllabus, the student must identify in writing; 1) the proposed subject, and 2) a draft outline, for approval by the course instructor.

The written report shall be between 5 - 7 pages [two sided pages will not be accepted], double-spaced typed, l2pt. font on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Charts and graphics are not considered part of the required narrative content, but may be provided as attachments. Footnotes must meet appropriate format standards. The report format may use either of the following footnoting formats: Taraubien, APA, or MLS.

The Project Paper will be evaluated on the following issues:

• Subject content - following draft outline presented earlier;
• Use of economic principles presented and discussed in the course;
• Use of outside information sources;
• Grammar and punctuation.

This project paper must be submitted in hard copy by the date specified in the Syllabi Schedule - NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS will be accepted. The project paper counts for 20% of the student's grade.
