Scenario: You are the Decision Support Director for a large community hospital. You have been asked by Administration to provide to the Board information from your hospital's Inpatient (DAD) and outpatient (NACRS) populations that would assist in evaluating the type of care your facility provides. After discussion and consideration, you select 5 indicators that you believe would reflect an understanding of these populations to senior administration.

Provide a slide deck in the form of a presentation to the Board(see details below). Slide deck should not exceed 25 slides and should include speaker notes. You will not need to present it, only provide it. Speaker notes can be in the 'Notes' section of each slide, or in a Word document with the associated slide number identified.

Assignment: Based on your knowledge of DAD and NACRS data elements, and your understanding of what an indicator is, identify 5 health indicators from elements in these datasets. Describe the indicators you chose and explain why they were selected. Think about the kinds of things that would be important for a hospital to know about their patients...things that might inform the kinds of services they provide. Be sure your indicators can be calculated using DAD or NACRS. Be careful not to select public health indicators for this assignment!
