You are the newly appointed Human Resource Manager of Grand Hotel. This hotel was established in year 2011 at Kuala Lumpur and since then it has grew rapidly. Currently it has seven (7) branches at various states of Peninsular Malaysia. Now the management is considering of opening three (3) more branches in East Malaysia. As such, the management of the hotel is concern with the recruitment and selection practices so that it can attract talented workers that will support the strategy and the growth of the company.

As a new manager, you were task to evaluate the various recruitment and selection practices that can attract the right talented workers that fit the Grand Hotel work environment . Thus, you have decided to conduct a secondary research on current recruitment and selection methods and propose appropriate recruitment and selection strategy for implementation to the top management. Present your analysis and findings in a report format.

Detail of the assignment:

This assignment requires you to evaluate the current recruitment and selection trend in the hotel industry and examine the various recruitment and selection methods available to hire the right talented Gen Y workers . Thus, you are required to review literature on various recruitment and selection methods and its benefits. Lastly provide your recommendations based on best practices in the industry focusing on hotel services.

Your reference sources may comprise the followings:

  • Text or reference books
  • Academic journals(at least six (6) academic journals)

Format: Cover page, Table of Contents, Executive Summary, Body (use appropriate APA Harvard Referencing style), Conclusion, and Bibliography (confine your references to academic journals/periodicals, except for definitions which you may refer to one of two books).

Length and style: The report should be within 2500 words excluding the cover page, table of contents, bibliography and appendixes. The report must be written with one and half spacing, Times New Roman, font size 12.

This coursework will assess the following learning outcomes:

  • Analyze HRM theory and its application in practice in relevant initiatives and interventions
  • Examine the development of key strategic management and organizational practices that impact on the provision of HR strategy and practice
