2. Study some recent instances in which top management and/or the board of directors have not served shareholder interests. Speculate on why the issue of ownership and control has been such a controversial since Adam Smith expressed his concern about those who manage "other peoples' money" many years ago.

3. Finally, fictional literature was used by Scott to indicate a shift in social values during this period. Take a sample of best-selling contemporary fictional literature and comment on what social values are being portrayed. Or, examine how business people are being portrayed in today's fictional literature or other media? Do you feel these views are unbiased and realistic or are biased and over dramatized?
