HS3041 Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management - Holmes Institute

Purpose

Students will be expected to complete a critique and conduct a literature review to critically analyse a contemporary Business Intelligence issue as determined by the unit co-ordinator. A student will be required to conduct research in regards to an issue and how this issue impacts on Business Intelligence implementation, adoption and use, and identify appropriate approaches to address this issue. Students will submit a draft overview of their paper in week 7 to receive feedback as per their research direction. The draft will include the headings and main points and 5 key references.

You are expected to complete and conduct a literature review to critically analyse this topic:

"The role of Business Intelligence on the Strategic Decision-Making Process".

Requirement:
You are required to conduct research in regards to this topic and discuss the role of Business Intelligence implementation, adoption and use on the Strategic Decision-Making Process and identify appropriate approaches to address this topic.

You need to search in the literature and find five (5) academic research papers (references) related to the above topic (Academic papers can be found in ProQuest (ProQuest instruction can be found in below. Please advise Liberian if you have further question).

What you need to submit for final submission:
1. Assignment File: You need to submit the final version of your assignment in week 13. The final submission must comply with the draft structure and draw heavily from the key references. The structure of the final submission is headings and in discussion critically analyse each reference and discuss how these 5 references reflecting the role of BI on the Strategic Decision Making Process and how they implement, adopt, and use Business Intelligence.

• Conclusion: Summarise your findings, consolidating and drawing attention to the main points of the report.
• Referencing: reference sources must be cited in the text of the report, and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list using Harvard referencing style.
