You are the project manager at an interior design firm. A fellow project manager has just left the company. At the time of their departure, they had 10 open projects. Your managing director informs you that these projects now belong to you. You currently have 5 open projects, so this brings you to 15 total. The average amount of projects that a project manager typically handles at this company is between 8-10. There are 5 projects valued at less than $50,000. Another 5 are between $50,000 and $150,000. The remaining 5 projects are between $150,000 and $500,000. Any job over $150,000 will require a site visit to close out. Seven projects are being closed out. The other 8 projects are in the execution (performing) phase. The 10 new projects are also in a different region of the country.
