When people think of marketing, they often think about the marketing of products and services. Marketing can also mean the marketing of causes and ideas. In chapter twelve you read about nonprofit organization marketing.
For your discussion this week, please do the following:
Select a local, regional or national nonprofit organization
Summarize what marketing message or messages this organization is using
What marketing channels does this organization use to get their message out? (radio ads, tv, social media, etc)
How would you describe the tone of the marketing messages? Do they tug at the heartstrings and try to get people to donate? Are they more factual and informative in nature?
If you were the head of marketing for this organization, what might you do differently to get people to support and/or donate to the cause?
