• A Rogerian argument focuses on the audience. If you are going to convince different audiences, you need to cater your information and persuasive practices to that audience's interest. If you are trying to persuade a group of senior citizens to increase their exercise level, what might you emphasize and what would you recommend they do?

How would those reasons and recommendations change if your audience were a group of teens who were interested in becoming better athletes? Consider the characteristics and needs of each audience when tailoring your argument.

• The time has come to draft your paper. The old expression, "There's no second chance at a first impression," is highly applicable to argument papers.

The way you begin can affect your paper's ability to achieve its purpose of persuading your reader to your point of view, so carefully consider how you are going to introduce your topic and thesis. It is important to avoid alienating your reader, particularly if your thesis is controversial or emotionally charged. Please explain how you will do this in your paper.
