Ayn Rand's Objectivism/David Hume "IS-OUGHT" PROBLEM

Term paper ghostwriting is surely not a new idea. But doing it on the scale of big business-with advertisements in college newspapers, branch offices, and a stable of writers-is. It is possible today to buy a term paper on virtually any subject, complete with footnotes and bibliography. Some companies even offer tailor-made papers. You see an opportunity and want to start your own similar business. Is this business model ethical?

DISCUSSION QUESTION

Apply AYN RAND'S ethical approach to this scenario. How would she decide what is right to do? Note her theory has 4 principle's which ought to be included in your analysis.

Rand described Objectivism as "The concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute".

Ayn Rand's approach to a situation is focused on the interest of the individual. as stated in the text she was prejudice against mysticism and collectivism. She was extremely impacted by the war and communism. Rand believed that our own happiness was the moral principal of life. Rand would believe this is acceptable because it goes with her ideas of self-interest & that it's morally ok. She also believes that is what motivates in life. Selfishness is something she advocates for so someone else writing the paper & you are submitting it as your own. It is also believed we have free will and can think for ourselves. We have to use reason as knowledge when drawing conclusions and making choices.

Discussion Question.

Apply AYN RAND'S ethical approach to this scenario. How would she decide what is right to do? Note her theory has 4 principle's which ought to be included in your analysis. This is problem 16 page 159 of our textbook.

when it comes to the question the scenario Term paper ghostwriting is surely not a new idea.

Using Ayn Rand's ethical approach Then it would be perfectly fine to indulge in paper ghost writing as a means to an end. I think her selfishness concept one would be wrong if they did not utilize every effort to accomplish ones own interest. It would be ethical to do so but not using the writing service to further ones self would be unethical
