Overview

Plan a crime! In this activity you will adopt an adversarial mindset; in other words, think like a criminal. To become a security expert you need to think like someone who is seeking opportunities to exploit. As a burglar, choose a target organization. Identify the assets you plan to obtain. Assets may be money, drugs, jewelry, or information to name a few. The objective is to plan your crime by acknowledging what you'd like to steal and by explaining how you plan to complete the theft. What are the opportunities to enter the premises? What are the obstacles will you need to overcome? Where are you vulnerable to capture?

To catch a burglar you must learn to think like a burglar! Begin by selecting a target organization (bank, pawn shop, retail store, etc.). Note: Do not select a bar or hotel for this activity because those examples will be used in future assignments.
