Discussion Post: Cultural Transformation- Organizational Reflection
Throughout this course, you have explored organizational culture through several different lenses. By now, you likely realize that the artifacts of culture are often the visible-albeit superficial-descriptors of organizational culture. As such, they represent the external manifestations of some of the cultural underpinnings of the organization. But it is truly the assumptions that underlie the artifacts that form the core of an organizational culture.
Walden University's mission is to promote positive social change by providing a diverse learning community that supports scholar-practitioners who want to promote positive change efforts in their communities, organizations, and on a global scale. Here in Week 8, you will have the opportunity to readily apply reflections and transformational efforts for the sake of positive social change.
In this, your final week of the course, you will share your "aha" moments from your Organizational Reflection with classmates. You will also identify a negative cultural component found in the organization you chose from Week 1 and construct an improvement strategy that a leader, or leaders, can use to improve the negative cultural component within the organization. In addition, you will include how the transformation will more effectively promote positive social change.
