Compare how two different states fund their K-12 education systems. At the following link, you can search for the government websites for two different states and explore how the Education Department funds education. Choose two states of interest. You might choose two states that you expect to be very different (if they are different politically or in terms of wealth. For example, you might choose New York and Mississippi.
Visit the state websites, select the department of education and enter "funding." You may need to try different search terms, like "school aid," "K-12 funding," or the like. Look for a link that explains how schools are paid for in that state.

3. Has the level of funding changed in recent years?
4. How much does local property tax contribute to funding?
