To determine the organic material in a dried lake bed, you have determined the percent carbon by mass at two different locations. In order to compare the means of the two different locations, you need to determine whether the standard deviations of the two locations are different first

Location 1 (data set 1): 30.4, 30.3, 30.3, 30.4, 30.2
Location 2 (data set 2): 30.2, 30.9, 30.3, 30.7, 30.4

1. For each data set, calculate the standard deviation.

2. What is the calculated F-value for comparing the standard deviations?
