If I have a set of values(direct measurements of dynamic deformations of a road at 100m) between 3 and~1000, how can I calculate the 2 characteristical values wich limits the interval including 85,95% of all possible measurements on this road? Using stdev and t-Student, the lower value results negative if some values are too high(all values & results MUST be positives).

If the aberant values are the problem how to analyse the dataset to check wich values to reject?

Test hypotheses and sample size requirement

A study was conducted to estimate the mean amount spent on birthday gifts for a typical family having two children. A sample of 150 was taken, and the mean amount spent was \$225.

Finding median if distribution of data is extremely skewed

Median can be a more suitable measure of central tendency than mean if distribution of data is extremely skewed.

Five-step process for calculating probabilities

What are the five steps for calculating probabilities of events? Please apply these steps to an example.

Find the moment of inertia of the wheel

Initially the wheel rotates with an angular speed W, causing the block to rise with a linear speed v = 0.33 m/s. Find the moment of inertia of the wheel if the block rises to a height of = 7.9 before momentarily coming to rest.

Explain which three measures of central tendency

Also explain which of the three measures of central tendency would be appropriate for your example, which would be inappropriate, and why.

The length of country and western songs is normally

The length of country and western songs is normally distributed and has a mean of of 170 seconds with a standard deviation of 49 seconds. find the probabality that a random collection of 16 songs will have a mean of 158.30 seconds or less?

Compute binomial probability distribution

Find the probability that when 236 reservations are accepted for Flight 179, there are more passengers showing up than there are seats available.

Chi square test of independence and z test

A researcher is interested in studying the relationship between certain driving habits and type of vehicle. He hypothesizes that signaling behavior will be different for drivers of trucks and cars.

Make forecast using a trend model-fit several trend models

Make a forecast for 2005, using a trend model of your choice or a judgment forecast. Discuss. Note: Time increments are 5 years, so use t = 6 for your 2005 forecast.

What proportion of municipal bonds is issued

What proportion of municipal bonds is issued by suburbs and What is the probability that a randomly selected visit will last between 60 and 90 minutes?

Students speak the same mean number of words

Assume that two samples are independent simple random samples selected from normally distributed populations. Use a 0.05 significance level to test the claim that male and female biology students speak the same mean number of words in a day.

Drawing the sample of church members

For a regional survey of suburban households to obtain data on television viewing habits, a statistical sample of suburban areas is first selected.  Within the chosen areas, statistical samples of whole blocks are selected; and within the selected..
