Step 1: Read & Watch the Compulsory Sources
• Read these two articles from the READING LIST:

• Watch ‘The Surprising Solution to Workplace Diversity'' (Mahdawi, 2017) Ted Talk
• As you read and watch, think about how these three sources can help you address the topic: Explain how managers and organisations can constructively address issues of diversity in the workforce
• NOTE: These 3 sources here are COMPULSORY SOURCES you have to include in your Assignment 1 essay response

Step 2: Find at least three credible journal articles IN ADDITION to the resources in Step 1
Now that you have noted how these three resources help you address the writing prompt, what other peer-reviewed, academic journal articles can you find to help you build on those arguments?
Select between 3 - 6 articles you wish to include. Take notes or mark up the articles to identify the key points. Next, analyse the key points in relation to the topic question. Use these key points to support your approach to answering the topic question in the 3 body paragraphs of your essay.

Step 3: Write your persuasive essay
Word limit 750 words +/- 10% (excluding reference list and in-text citations). The document must be typed in MS Word using in an appropriate font, e.g. Times New Roman, Helvetica, Cambria or Arial (size 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing and left aligned).
The document must include:
Title Page: Name, Student Number, Course section, Title, Date
1. An introduction (150 words): Briefly introduce the purpose of this essay. Within the introductory paragraph you will need to foreground or signpost key topics you will address in the body paragraphs for this essay.
2. Three Body paragraphs (3 x 150 words each) Remember to support your argument with in-text references (does not count towards overall word limit)
3. A Conclusion (150 words): The conclusion must briefly summarise the key points in the body paragraphs.

Step 4: Referencing guidelines

• Your reference list should include the two articles from the reading list, the Mahdawi (2017) TED Talk along with a minimum of three other credible sources
• You must refer to between 3 - 6 other credible that have been published within the last 10 years (i.e., 2010 - 2020). That will enable you to undertake a synthesis and analysis of contemporary management work.
