1. Identify three success factors that are critical in any quality improvement initiative or effort.

2. Evaluate the effectiveness of the DMAIC model by doing the following:

a. Explain how the DMAIC model could be applied to address the three key success factors from part 1 in the current project plan at Shelbyville Medical Center.

b. Discuss the appropriateness of the DMAIC model as a framework for improvement to address the defined project aim.

c. Discuss an alternate improvement framework or method that might be more or equally applicable in managing problem resolution and organizational change at Shelbyville Medical Center.

3. Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
