Case: Amy is a middle manager of a successful advertising firm. She has been identified as a future leader by the CEO and the Executive Management team. She has been directed to attend a 5-day intensive leadership development program to kick-start her expanding career. When she returns from the 5-day event, she is very keen and excited to start implementing some of the ideas that she has developed at the course, but her immediate manager (who is not a member of the Executive Management Team) thinks that he needs to control some of her enthusiasm and continue to focus on her immediate job.
