Design Assignment -

You are required to design a coaxial transmission line as shown in Figure. The requirements are that the characteristic impedance has to be 75Ω and the electrical length must be 360o (1 wavelength) at 2 GHZ. You need to use Teflon (εr = 2.1) as the dielectric and you can consider it is a Iossless line. Also the radius of the outer conductor should be between 3 and 8 mm.

Calculate:

a. The physical dimensions of the transmission line, as the inner (ri) and outer (ro) radius and the length of the conductors.

b. The capacitance and inductance per meter.

c. How much time it takes for a signal to travel through the cable.
