Design Assignment -
You are required to design a coaxial transmission line as shown in Figure. The requirements are that the characteristic impedance has to be 75Ω and the electrical length must be 360o (1 wavelength) at 2 GHZ. You need to use Teflon (εr = 2.1) as the dielectric and you can consider it is a Iossless line. Also the radius of the outer conductor should be between 3 and 8 mm.
Calculate:
a. The physical dimensions of the transmission line, as the inner (ri) and outer (ro) radius and the length of the conductors.
b. The capacitance and inductance per meter.
c. How much time it takes for a signal to travel through the cable.
A Balanced Three-Phase Circuit is Characterized as follows: Y-Δ Connected Source Voltage in B-phase is 20
Assume that a stuck-at-1 fault occurs at the output of the circuit ((A+B)(B+C))'. Determine the test pattern that detects the fault. Repeat for a stuck-at-0 fault at the output.
A shift operation follows the arithmetic and logical operation. The opcode controls ALU functions as follows:
Suppose that a voltage given by v(t) = 45 sin(100pt- 70°) is applied to a 9 O resistance. Sketch v(t) to scale versus time (make sure to put the labels on graph). Find the rms value of the voltage.
A meter being used for a 2-wire resistance measurement has an internal current source of 1 mA. If the meter's test leads have equal resistances of 0.06-ohm, what is the measured resistance for: A resistor of actual value 0.5-ohm
A sine wave has a peak amplitude of 2V and a frequency of 100Hz. Calculate the instantaneous voltage at a time of 250 micro seconds after the waveform passes through the 0-V baseline in a positive direction.
The same line when connected to a line of characteristic impedance 150Ω produces a standing wave ratio of value 1.5 in the150Ω line. Find the unknown characteristic impedance.
Discuss how the ethical problem solving techniques presented in this course could be applied to bribery and the acceptance of gifts. This discussion should be two paragraphs in length.
Compare the computational complexity of the Laplacian regularized least-squares algorithm with that of the regularized least-squares algorithm using labeled examples only.
A capacitor bank is required that can be charged to 5 kV and store at least 250 K of energy. Design a series/parallel combination that meets the voltage and energy requirements using 20-μF capacitors each rated at 2 kV max.
What is the primary purpose of a resistor in series with a LED being driven by a flip-flop?
Design the circuit to establish a dc emitter current of 1mA and provide the highest possible voltage gain while allowing for a maximum signal swing at the collector of +-2V. Use +10V and -5V power supplies.
