How many kJ of energy are required to convert 747 grams of water (liquid) at 23.4°C to steam at 100°C? The following information is given for H2O: The specific heat of ice is 2.09 J/g°C, the specific heat of liquid water is 4.18 J/g°C, the specific heat of steam (water vapor) is 2.01 J/g°C, the heat of fusion is 6.01 kJ/mol at 0°C, and the heat of vaporization is 40.7 kJ/mol at 100°C.
