A student picks up a Multinational Corporation (MNC) and conducts in-depth research on the company based on the learnings from the class materials. Students submit the research report.

The first step for research is to collect current and historical data and information. The annual report of a MNC contains basic information and a student will collect additional data as the class progresses. There is no limit on the number of pages or slides. However, make the report to be concise and to the points.

A. How many countries and in what country does a company operate?

B. Source of operating income (sales revenue and cost of production) - domestic/international and export/import

C. Importance and significance of different kinds of risks (we are focusing on three major types of risk in the class - foreign exchange risk, political risk and governance risk) and how does the company manage those risks.

D. Current business activities as a MNC. For example, we observe some U.S. MNCs are expanding into India and do research on economic and business opportunities in India that attracts U.S. MNCs.

E. In the process of research, if a student finds a certain subject interesting, then the student can purse the topic in more detail focusing on the topic.
