Question: Although society has evolved significantly over the last few thousand years, at our roots we are no different than our ancestors that came before us. Humans have always been inherently selfish, greedy, and combative with each other. We constantly find dumb things to fight over, constantly invent new ways to kill each other, and would rather fight amongst ourselves than solve the world wide problems staring us in the face. The idea of being civilized is ultimately a farce that everyone believes in and participates in because they want to distance themselves from reality as much as possible. There have been many studies that have shown that if a large scale disaster took out all of our modern infrastructure that society would collapse in approximately 72 hours. That means even with all of the progress we have made throughout our existence, we are no more than 3 days away from reverting back to the violent hunter/gatherer lifestyle of our ancestors. Thankfully, the likelihood of this happening is incredibly small but people often do not know how fragile society is as a whole. do you agree?
