In every area of life, ethical perspectives shape decisions about how to deal with conflicts. Decisions on whether to speak up or walk away, to take part in a protest or stay home, to act or not, are based on ethical perspectives. Ethics are the foundation of what we are willing to do and not do when faced with a conflict. Our perceptions of power structures in society (which are examined by conflict theory) also impact our decisions about dealing with conflicts.

For this discussion, we will consider how ethical perspectives and our perceptions of power structures can affect how we choose to respond (or not respond) to conflicts.

Discussing challenges that face our world often means investigating opinions and ideas different from your own. Remember to remain thoughtful and respectful towards your peers and instructor in your initial and response discussion posts.
