In the Civil War there were numerous incidents in which the bullet fired from a Union soldier's rifle struck and fused with the bullet from a Confederate's rifle. Assume the impact scenario is as shown. The Union bullet (2 oz) has a speed of vu=720ft/s and its velocity is oriented at 2° to the horizontal. The Confederate bullet (2.5 oz.) has a speed of vc = 700ft/s and its velocity vector is oriented at 1° to the horizontal.
