Discussion Post
In this discussion find a photograph, sound file, or video about one of the many topics mentioned in our readings and films.
There are far too many people, events, and ideas for our textbook to cover them all. Fortunately, we are now studying an era with lots of multimedia resources available. Please learn more about one of the people, events, or ideas in our textbook this week and then teach us about it. In a way, you are playing two roles. You are a student learning more about a topic, and you are a teacher telling us about that topic.
Obviously, you will need to pick a solid multimedia resource that is worth our attention. Choose wisely. Don't just pick from the first ones that pop up on a search. Browse a bit, find one with substance.
Start your posting with your APA-formatted reference for the resource you have selected. You do not need to use a hanging indent or double-space the reference because that is too hard to do in Blackboard. However, you must include all of the available information about the resource that an APA reference requires.
Then, have a summary paragraph. Tell us about the resource. What are we looking at or listening to or viewing? Explain it in words to us.
Then, have an analysis paragraph. How does this resource fit into the history of American popular culture? What is its cultural significance? Why is it interesting historically?
A tip: If you copy and paste your essay from your word processor into Blackboard, then it is easier for your classmates to access and you might get more replies. This is why it is better to copy and paste your main posting rather than attaching a file.
