In this mission portrayal, OSS and MI6 set up a counterintelligence deception operation in World War II London with Dutch Resistance (SOE) personnel, among whom they knew included at least one German (Nazi) penetration agent. Besides identifying the German agent, the mission objective was to make the Germans believe that the Allied D-Day (June 6, 1944) invasion would be via Holland and not France. All involved parties made errors in either counterintelligence mission security or spycraft.

Based on your assigned group (see below): Your task on this assignment is to identify and evaluate the key spycraft techniques utilized in this counterintelligence mission and at least two major security errors that occurred. How did these errors compromise the operation's success? Suggest alternative strategies that could have minimized these risks.

The class will be divided into two groups, Allied and Axis. If your last name begins with A-L, you are in the Allied group. If your last name begins with M-Z, you are on the Axis group. The Allies will identify the errors of the Axis (including the German agent)
