This assignment is a compare and contrast essay.

Compare and contrast the effects on the United States of the end of the First World War with the effects of the end of the Second World War. How did the end of the First World War affect the US? How did the Second World War affect the US? How were these effects similar? How were they different? What did the US do after the Second World War different from what it did after the First? What did it do the same? What were the strengths and weaknesses of each? What could/should the US have done differently? What should it have done more?

This is an analysis paper, NOT a research paper. It requires NO outside research: your only sources should be your textbook, your documents book, and your notes. DO NOT do any internet research. Compare the similarities; contrast the differences.

Write a paper of between 600-900 words (these are hard numbers: too small or too large will incur significant penalty). Use 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins. Do not use a title page. Make a clear argument, and observe ALL rules of formal writing.
