After conducting a root cause analysis (RCA), developing a corrective and/or preventative action plan can help a criminal justice professional determine how best to resolve a problem or an issue. For example, you are a criminal justice professional working with people who have been granted release from incarceration, and you have a meeting with a new client who is about to be released from prison after a 15-year drug trafficking conviction.

Complete the following before responding to the questions.

Reflect on how a corrective and/or preventative action plan can help you assess risks and needs and identify solutions to reduce the likelihood that they will re-offend.
