Question: Suppose the scheme of assigning column parity bits (i.e., the "p" bits).

Assume that the receiver knows that one of the row of data bits was lost (never received) and that it knows that all the other rows are correct.

This could be the case if each row is a byte and we have a final byte of parity bits, and perhaps the receiver can determine that one byte was lost (erased essentially).

Problem: How can you recover the missing byte? I cannot seem to get this to work for some reason could somebody provide the answer?
