Soil has been compacted in an earth dam to a bulk density of 2.2 Mg/m3 and a water content of 9.5%. The value of Gs is 2.6.

Calculate:

b) Void Ratio

c) degree of saturation

d) Air Content

Would it be possible to compact the above soil at a water content of 13.5% to a dry density of 2.00 Mg/m3? How can you prove that your answer is correct?
