A cylinder is separated into two sections Y and Z by an insulating frictionless piston and sealed at both ends. Each section has two moles of an ideal gas. Both sections are at T = 300K and each has volume V = 2.0 dm3 initially. Now heat supply get reversed to section Y while maintaining section Z at T = 300 K. Section Y therefore expands and section Z contracts. Heating continues until the V of section Z is 1.0 dm3 CV = 20.0 J K-1 mol-1
