A client of a major hospital chain in a racially and religiously diverse area has had numerous instances of miscommunication with patient families. They employ translators when necessary, but still have trouble conveying information about patient's conditions and take-home medication instructions to family members. There have been a number of conflicts with family members and patients returning who are ill again after skipping medication or not following doctor's orders. They are thinking that maybe a technology/digital product could help with directions and condition descriptions and have hired you as an ethnographer to explore this idea. Address the following issues in your response.

1. Who will you focus your study on/who is your study population? The hospital staff and families? Just patients? Just families? Etc.

2. What is an exploratory question(s) you might ask to address this problem?

3. What ethnographic methods will you use to address an exploratory question and why? (Include at least 2)
