The purpose of this assignment is for the learner to interpret, evaluate, and analyze sources to research a historical person. Directions:
Step 1: Choose a historical personPick a historical person of interest to you who is significant to American history. Possible individuals will be discussed in class. It is highly recommended that you discuss your choice with your instructor prior to choosing the person.
Step 1: ResearchUse the Buchanan Library online databases.• A minimum of 3 different sources should be referenced.
Step 3: Observation and analysis.Provide an analysis based on your research that responds to the following questions*.1. During what period of American history did the person live?2. What were the major contributions or achievements of this individual?3. What opportunities enabled this person to achieve success?4. What obstacles or challenges did this person encounter?5. Did these challenges interfere with or contribute to the person's achievements?6. Were other individuals influential in this person's life? Identify these individuals and explain their influence.7. Were the contributions of the person of a short-term or long-term influence?8. Was the person influential in his/her own lifetime?9. Provide APA references for all sources.
