Assume that Gary is getting out of his car at a grocery store when he hears something around a corner. He looks around and sees Logan, a huge muscular man, strangling Mrs. Ogilvy, a frail 78-year-old widow. Logan is trying to get Mrs. Ogilvy's purse from her, but the woman is resisting to the best of her limited ability. She is passing out as Logan crushes her throat. Clearly, she is in danger. Gary leaps in to help and punches Logan in the face very hard. Logan falls and hits his head on the curb and dies. What crime, if any, will GARY be charged with and why or why not? Gary will be charged with Manslaughter. Gary will be charged with Murder. Gary will be charged with nothing because we, as a society, need to protect the elderly. Gary will be charged with nothing since Mrs. Ogilvy was facing deadly force, had a right to self-defense, could not act for herself, and Gary could therefore act for her.
