Question: Avery, McLeod and McCarthy set out to uncover Griffith's transforming principle: in other words what is it about heat killed smooth, pathogenic Streptococcus pneumoniae that makes rough, avirulent S. pneumoniae become pathogenic. How did they determine what the transforming principle is? I want in detailed experimental plan, including the use of mice.
