As finals are time consuming for students and professors, Professor Schlock has decided that students will draw cards to determine their grade. Each student will draw from a group of 6 cards placed face down on a table. One of the cards is black, and the others are red. The student will draw cards one at a time, and may stop at any point. For each red card drawn, the grade will be higher: one red card brings a D, two a C, three a B, and four an A. But, if the black card is drawn at any time, the student's grade will be an F. Draw the decision tree for this situation, assuming that grades my justifiably be quantified in the usual manner ( A=4, B=3, C=2 etc.)
Information about accessing the Blackboard Grading Rubric for this assignment is provided below.
Determine marginal probability distributions of X and Y . Compute conditional probability P ( Y = 2 | X = 1)
State the hypotheses for a right-tailed test. (b) Obtain a test statistic and p-value. (c) Is normality assured? (d) If significant, is the difference also large enough to be important?
Assume we know the length of time a battery will hold a charge is a normal distribution with a mean of 50 hours and a standard deviation of 15 hours.
Please state the steps used to perform a hypothesis test on the coefficient of correlation and provide a detailed example. Details are greatly appreciated!
Under the new structure of the sample, how will the answers to a, b, and c change and create a 95-percent confidence interval for the average distance of Brand A
The sample mean was x=4.05 mm, and the sample standard deviation was s= 0.08 mm. Find a 95% lower confidence bound for mean wall thickness. Interpret the interval you obtained.
There are many nonparametric tests that have been developed over the years. Explain what nonparametric tests are and why they were developed.
Payne (2001) gave participants a computerized task in which they first see a face and then a picture of either a gun or a tool. The task was to press one button if it was a tool and a different one if it was a gun.
Can you provide some pros and cons of using descriptive and inferential statistics to make managerial decisions.
