Question

Everyone can get tested genetically these days, and the information you pay to receive can range from where your ancestors came from to possible genetic diseases. Some of the companies may sell this information to insurance companies, law enforcement, and others that may exploit this information, which many believe is, and should be private. What do you think? If distributing it can help catch serial killers, then it's a good thing, no? And what if you learn that you are at higher risk for cancer? Or that you are at risk of developing the neurodegenerative Huntington's Disease? Would you change the way you are living, or keep going as normal? And what about neonatal implications? Most recently, the UK has been considering screening the whole genome of newborns for genetic diseases to potentially intervene at an early stage with diet restrictions or gene therapy. Naturally there are some ethical concerns. What do you think?
