Project Guidelines

The purpose of this project is to give you an insight of the Human Resources Management functions that every HR professional must be aware about. Each group should select only one of the following HR functions that comprise any HR department and apply it on any UAE based organization in (government or private sector):

Recruitment and Selection
Training and Development
Performance Management
Health and Safety

Each group shall choose only one function out of the four functions listed above.
The overall group project involves writing a project report:

You are expected to submit 3,000 words (+/- 10%).
Use font size 12, double spaced, Times New Roman.
Use a cover page with necessary information including title, group members' names & IDs.

The structure of the project should be in the following format: -

Table of content.

One-page executive summary that summarizes your overall work & findings.

Introduction (organization background, explanation and scope of the project).

Study and research the HR function you selected and make sure to cover the following points:

Definition of the selected HR function.

Discuss in general the importance of such HR function and its relationship with the organization management.

Mention and discuss the full process of the selected function at the selected organization.

Methods (brief description of the methods you used to collect data about the organization).

Examine the current situation of the HR function chosen in the organization you selected and check if it complies with the applicable UAE HR Law. This should include a discussion of how the selected HR function is implemented in the organization you chose and whether the organization is complying with the UAE HR Law.

Conduct a SWOT analysis (analyze the strengths & weaknesses /Threats & Opportunities of the organization) in relation to the HR function you chose and briefly discuss the results of that analysis.

Conclusion and recommendations as applicable.
