Scenario

Imagine a situation where a teaching assistant is working in a primary school. They work in a few different classes. As they work with their students, they notice many differences between the children of different ages, in terms of how the students think, relate to others and make decisions. They want to understand why children at age 10-11 are so different from children at age 5-6. They ask you - as a psychology and counselling student - to write an essay for them, comparing the theories and evidence which have tried to explain why and how children's psychology develops over this period.
