Your engineering consulting firm has been asked to determine the specific weight of an unknown material. You decide to use the concept of buoyancy to figure this out. So you weigh the material in both air and water. The weight in air is 500 N and 200 N in water. First find the volume of the material using force equilibrium when the block is submerged in water. Then calculate the specific weight of the material.
