Question: The football team at the school of one of the authors won 4 of 11 games it played during the 2004 college football season. Point differences between teams in the 11 games were

+38, -14, +24, -13, -9, -7, -2, -11, -7, +4, +24

A positive difference indicates that the author's school won the game, and a negative difference indicates that the author's school lost.

a. Find the value of the mean point difference and the value of the median point difference for the 11 games.

b. Explain which of the two summary values found in part (a) is a better summary of the team's season.
