A control chart is designed to monitor the threshold voltage of NMOS transistors. Assume that the process is under control for some time before an abrupt process shift occurs. Suppose that the chart is set so that it signals an alarm with probability 1 - β the first time a sample arrives from the shifted process. Find

(b) The probability that the alarm will be missed for K samples following the shift.

(c) The expected number of samples needed after the shift in order to generate an alarm.
