A piston-cylinder arrangement contains carbon dioxide at 50 psia and 200 degrees F with a volume of 5 ft3. Mass is added to the piston at a rate such that the gas is compressed according to the relationship PV1.2 = constant to a final volume of 1.8 ft3. Find the final pressure (psia), the work done in the process (lbf-ft), and the final temperature of the gas (degrees F).
