Question: A music company collects data from customers who purchase CDs and MP3 downloads from them. Each person is asked to state his or her favorite musical genre from the following list: Classic Rock, Country, Hip-Hop/Rap, Jazz, Pop, and R&B. Random samples of customers were selected from each genre. Each customer was asked how much he or she spent (in dollars) on music purchases in the last month. The following table gives the information (in dollars) obtained from these customers.

a. At the 10% significance level, will you reject the null hypothesis that the average monthly expenditures of all customers in each of the six genres are the same?

b. What is the Type I error in this case, and what is the probability of committing such an error? Explain.
