In a styrofoam cup calorimeter, some students who stirred too hard got negative heat capacity for their calorimeter. The students continued to do the experiment and determined the negative heat capacity of a metal and heats of reaction, using the negative heat capacity for the calorimeter.

Explain why negative heat capacity obtained and if the results for the remainder of the experiment could be reasonable?
